Services to Irish Dance

2026

Marie Duffy Pask is one of the most influential Irish dance teachers and choreographers of modern times, with a career spanning over five decades at the highest level. Trained at the renowned Inis Ealga Academy in Dublin, she became a TCRG, ADCRG and SDCRG Examiner, adjudicating and teaching worldwide since the earliest days of the World Championships.

A member of CLRG for over 50 years (since 1969), Marie has given lifelong service to Irish dance at the highest level. In May 2025, she was deeply honoured to be appointed President of An Coimisiún le Rince Gaelacha, a fitting recognition of her extraordinary contribution to the organisation and to Irish dance globally.

Marie Duffy founded the Marie Duffy Irish Dance School in 1988, establishing a strong foundation and achieving success at the highest levels across the World and All Ireland Championships. Her career then took her onto the global stage, where she worked alongside Michael Flatley as Associate Choreographer and Dance Director on Lord of the Dance, as well as Feet of Flames and Celtic Tiger. Her work during this time was showcased on some of the world’s most prestigious stages, including the Oscars and Buckingham Palace, along with major international television productions.

After 20 years of dedicated service to Lord of the Dance, Marie returned to her true passion for teaching, bringing her wealth of experience back to the studio and now sharing it with the next generation at Scoil Rince Céim Óir in London.

Alongside her husband Mike, she established the Marie Duffy Foundation, supporting dancers, musicians and choreographers worldwide, and continues to leave a lasting legacy through her teaching, choreography and published works, including Lady of the Dance and The Essential Guide to Irish Dance.
