Services to the Community

The Brian Boru celebrate the power of community and culture every day. Through Claddagh community group, Irish step dancing, Comhaltas junior and senior music and language classes, walk & talk, word circle, film club, running groups, and the popular Friday social, they proudly keep Irish heritage vibrant. With traditional music sessions, Ceili-cise classes, and live artists every Sunday and most Saturdays, the spirit of Ireland stays strong in Wigan.
In 2026, the club will mark its 40th annual St Patrick’s weekend mass and parade, complete with Irish wolfhounds, Brian Boru on stilts, and live music and dancing for all to enjoy.
The Ashton Branch of Comhaltas will also soon celebrate a major milestone. Founded in 1972, it continues its long-standing mission of nurturing Irish music, language, and culture for future generations.
